In this 2 Day Weekend Workshop, you’ll transform layers of mixed media and imagination into stunning ABSTRACT LANDSCAPES. In this immersive two-day workshop we’ll move beyond observation and replication to experimenting freely with acrylics, watercolors, and more, while building compositions that feel alive. I bring my studio to you: an abundance of mark-making tools, unusual paper specimens, stamps, stencils, mediums, and boxes of curated collage papers for you to explore and use. We’ll watch focused video tutorials allowing you more time to do one thing: make something extraordinary. You’ll have personal time with me both days so you’!! never feel lost – and go home a more independent and empowered artist.
Please bring the following. Note: Some items are optional.
* Watercolors – Include either paynes gray or indigo, raw umber, sienna, either Indian yellow or ochre, black, white, and other colors you like.
* Gouache – (optional) Bring colors you like
* Acrylic paint – Bring any brand name paint, colors you like, but be sure to include earth and sky tones, reds, blues, browns, ochre, black, and white.
* Palette, palette paper, palette knife
* Small kitchen sieve. We will grate charcoal into a fine powder with it.
* Paint brushes – Flats-1/4”, 1/2”, 1”, one medium round w/c brush, and a detail brush.
* Paper towels
* Baby wipes
* Scissors
* Masking tape
* Plastic trash bag
Note: Keep in mind there are a number of supplies I will be bringing for you, like foundation papers, a water receptacle for your brushes, and many other items.
